The Black Girls Rock! 2017 Red Carpet Explodes with Revolutionary Brains and Beauty

Eleven years strong, Black Girls Rock! proves, time and time again, that #BlackExcellence is a part of the Black female pedigree.  Not only that, the annual awards show, created to celebrate Black women trailblazers allows the definition of #BlackGirlMagic to immerse society in ways that demystifies the stereotypes of Black women without question. Black women and girls are pushing the limits beyond societal standards.  From inspiring beauty and fashion trends, growing small businesses to taking over all aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, they are setting the standard and raising the bar.

Black women have always been revolutionaries. This year’s honorees do not disappoint. Hosted by the phenomenal Taraji P. Henson, Black Girls Rock! 2017 will honor Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the legendary Roberta Flack, actress Issa Rae, actress and activist Yara Shahidi, Wall Street maven Suzanne Shank, and community organizers Derrica Wilson and Natalie Wilson. These phenomenal Black women are truly causing the revolution to be televised in ways that provoke action and reaction.
